the snowflake in the plateau

As I’m pretty much free from the burden of midterms, last weekend was the perfect time for me to get out of downtown and explore Montreal.
I did a bit research online and Café Névé grabbed my attention with its famous homemade cookies. So I dragged my friends Giulia and Kohei out with me and we took the metro to Mont Royal.

Medium latte. I like how creamy it is!

The cookies are MUST TRY. Who can resist a huge chocolate chunks cookie?

Café Névé is a bit different compared to other small cafes in downtown. It’s very hipster and you can tell from the decorations and the people sitting on the sofa. Sadly, the cafe was so crowded that it was impossible to find any seat. Most of the customers were students so we didn’t stay to wait for the spots to open up.

After we left the café, we walked along St. Denis and arrived at La Petite Cuillère.
La Petite Cuillère is one of the rare cafés that serve good quality food/coffee at a relatively cheap price. I came here once before and I ordered a small cup of latte and a piece of raspberry cake for just $5. I also love the choice of furniture, which creates a warm and earthy setting. I’m still waiting to have a chance to read and chill at the cozy sofa spot near the entrance!

Gastrographic

Hello. Welcome to Gastrographic. This website is dedicated to three things – To food, photography, and a love for clever language. The premise of Gastrographic is simple. It is a curation of the food we have enjoyed, presented in pretty photographs, garnished with photographic tidbits and dry wit. Gastrographic presents food eaten in London and Singapore and wherever it is our roving tastebuds take us. As long as the food is good, we aren’t picky eaters. If you like eating as much as we do, or fancy a chat about cameras, please stay on and browse awhile. gastrographic@gmail.com
